Port Summary

Warnemunde is located at the mouth of the Warnow River.  Here you'll get a taste for timber houses, boats, old time squares, seagulls and Ice Cream stalls.  From Warnemunde you can catch a train to Berlin which is what many passengers will do. Summer is a busy time in Warnemunde.  There is alway ferries coming and going from Denmark, Finland and Sweden as well as regattas.

Port Orientation

The ship will dock in one of two places: Warnemunde or Rostock. Warnemunde has two docks. From either of these docks you could walk straight into town.

Rostock port is bit further away.  There are two buses that run into the local areas.

Transportation

There are taxis waiting outside the ship for you no matter if you dock at Warnemunde or Rostock.

A great way to see the sights is walking. You are also able to rent bicycles, there are many marked trails for you follow.

If you choose to see Berlin the best way to get there is by train.  Also the ship may have excursion that travel to the places you would like to go to. 

Sightseeing

To see a bit of history that dates back to 1472 and is still working, stop by Rostock's St. Marienkiche Churchs astronomical clock.

Harbor tours operate from all along the Warnow in Warnemunde.

Wander along the Warnow river, have a beer in a pub garden, eat a fried fish sandwich, admire the old-fashioned lighthouse and dramatic lines of the Teepott exhibition centre Then, stroll along the seafront to watch kite surfers, and you've made a good start on Warnemunde.

Don't for get your kite. You can fly it high on Warnemunde Beach.
