Dakar is located near the peak of the Cap Vert Peninsula in Senegal, which is the westernmost point in Africa. With a population of over 2 million people, Dakar is home to the Senegal National Assembly, the Presidential Palace and is a major administrative hub. Senegal is also an Islamic country so the call to prayer is something that can be heard frequently in the afternoons.
