Introduction

People who love food, chocolate and beer will love Wellington. There are a wide range of dining options and culinary tours from which to choose. This is a very cosmopolitan city with a big university and the most famous museum in all of New Zealand.


Port Orientation

The cruise ship dock at Aotea Quay is about a twenty minute walk to the main waterfront area of downtown Wellington


Transportation

Taxis are easy to find and most take credit cards. Call 0800 101 103 if you need to schedule a taxi. You can also walk to the rail station and catch a bus. An all day bus pass including the cable car is only about $5NZD. This city does have some good hills so if you are walking be prepared to get your exercise.


Sightseeing

Te Papa Museum is a must do and is one of the most eclectic museums in the world. There is also a vibrant performing arts community here as well as the being New Zealand's fashion and food capital. Take a food and wine tour or perhaps you are a Lord of the Rings fan and want to partake in the Flat Earth New Zealand Experience.
