Description ~ Beginners Fair Isle

This class will cover ways to attach new colors, how to carry your yarn at the back (floats), achieve an even tension and tips on colour choice and patterns. Knitting in the round is optional the project can be knit flat.

Materials Needed ~ Beginners Fair Isle

• Jamiesons of Shetland and Jamieson and Smith are widely available.

• Please bring minimum 15g of 2-3 yarn colors of fingering weight Shetland wool such as Jamiesons of Shetland Spindrift, Jamieson and Smith jumper weight or similar.

• Needles - 4-5 DPNs or circular needle suitable for 42sts in size 3 – 3.5mm or US 2.5-4.

• If you are not taking the class on knitting belts, you are welcome to order one but it is not necessary. If you plan to learn how to use a belt that will not be covered in this class.

• Janette will do a knitting belt demonstration with the option to try a row on on her project using her belt.
