Hubbard Glacier, Alaska

Hubbard Glacier is a fascinating and dynamic feat of nature. It is over six miles wide and the face is an incredible 400 feet tall. This glacier creates icebergs that can be over four stories in height, which isn’t that uncommon. Cruise ships aren’t allowed too close to Hubbard Glacier as it has been known to surge in the past, causing the fjord to become a lake and threatening to flood the small coastal town of Yakutat.
