Hilo, Hawaii

Introduction

Hilo is on the Big Island of Hawaii. Hilo is home to two volcanoes, the active volcano is Mauna Loa and the dormant volcano is Mauna Kea. At Mauna Kea there is an Astronomical Observatory. Hilo is home to the world largest producer of Macadamia Nuts.

Transportation

The best way to explore Hilo is walking, but there are taxi and rental cars available for you as well.


Sightseeing

There is a 30 acre Japanese garden called Queen Liliuokalani Gardens for you to see and smell.


Don't forget to stop by the museums and the Hawaii Volcanos National Park.


If you are in Hilo on either Wednesday or Saturday stop by Hilos Farmer Market, there is a variety of fresh flowers and fruit available.


While in Hawaii you can't help but want to stop the beaches.


There is so much to do here.
