Northern Isles Knitting Cruise (July 2018) ~ Knitting Cruises Description

Northern Isles Knitting Cruise July 7-21, 2018 w/ Beth Brown-Reinsel

Set sail from Copenhagen visiting Norway, Iceland, the Faroes and the Shetland Isles on this memorable journey with like-minded knitters onboard Holland America's Zuiderdam. Participants will have the opportunity to learn new knitting skills in workshops taught by Beth Brown-Reinsel while the ship is at sea and explore on their own or with the group while in port.

This is always a popular Craft Cruise knitting cruise itinerary because it includes such ports as Copenhagen, Bergen, Reykjavik, Torshavn and Lerwick. Knitting is a way of life in this part of the world and is a place where many knitting traditions originated. Be pampered by Holland America Line's attentive staff while cruising from one fabulous port to another. On this cruise you will learn new knitting skills in classes taught by knitting expert Beth Brown-Reinsel and you will enjoy the instant community of being with other knitters. While in port you will shop for souvenir yarn, learn about yarn production and be inspired by local designers and knitters on privately arranged tours.

On this cruise Beth will be teaching such popular classes as Traditional Beginnings (a historic cast-on class), Twined Fingerless Mitts, Fair Isle Tams and Norwegian Mittens. In addition to the distinctive knitting techniques found here, the Northern Isles are in a region of the Atlantic Ocean known for its rugged coastlines and cool summertime temperatures. Join fellow knitters on this journey and you'll keep cool while stimulating your creativity.
